On June 28, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), conducted a practical workshop titled “Halal Food Entrepreneur Training Course” under the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand – Andaman Sea through Learning Ecosystems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation.” The opening ceremony was chaired by Asst. Prof. Chaiya Thanaphatsiri, Dean of the Faculty, held at the Multipurpose Pavilion, Koh Tak Nuea Village, Na Wa Subdistrict, Chana District, Songkhla Province.
The project ran from June 28 to 29, 2025, aiming to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in halal food preparation, including ingredient selection, curry paste making, food decoration, and plating techniques tailored for the tourism service industry.
The program included academic lectures and group hands-on sessions covering the preparation of savory dishes, snacks, fruit carving, and food plating. The sessions were led by Asst. Prof. Wanida Buriphakdi and Lecturer Panyaras Luekchorn, instructors from the Food and Nutrition Program, Faculty of Liberal Arts, RMUTSV, who shared their expertise.
This initiative responds to evolving tourism trends, particularly in the halal market segment, while empowering new entrepreneurs along the southern coastal areas to run quality and sustainable businesses. It is a key driver toward the long-term development of Thailand’s marine tourism sector.
