Faculty of Industrial Education Hosts Southern Thailand Mass Communication and Journalism Network Seminar to Advance Digital Technology Knowledge

On March 21, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV) organized the “2nd Southern Thailand Mass Communication and Journalism Network Seminar for Digital Technology Advancement” at the Thapthim 1 Conference Room. Associate Professor Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, presided over the opening ceremony.

The seminar was held against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving mass communication landscape, driven by AI, Big Data, VR/AR, and Generative AI, which have significantly impacted consumer behavior and media industry practices. Traditional media must adapt to digital platforms, while new professions such as Content Creators, Influencers, and Digital Entrepreneurs have emerged and are expanding rapidly.

This event provided a platform for faculty members, academics, and media professionals to exchange knowledge, perspectives, and experiences, as well as to discuss future industry trends and the optimal integration of digital technologies in media education and student development. Key activities included:

  • Recognition of outstanding students aspiring to become digital entrepreneurs and influencers
  • Panel discussion on “AI and the Future of Journalism and Mass Communication in Southern Thailand – Keeping Up with Digital Technology”
  • Expert-led discussion on “AI Transforming the Future: Opportunities and Challenges for the Next Generation of Media Professionals”

Industry specialists shared insights and practical strategies to benefit both educators and students, fostering collaboration among academic institutions and faculty networks in the southern region. This initiative aims to drive the progress of Thai journalism and mass communication in alignment with the digital era.
