Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya Collaborates with Rambahng Subdistrict Administrative Organization to Develop Community Tourism and Learning Resources

On February 10, 2025, Associate Professor Chaiya Thanapatthanasiri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), along with local entrepreneurs, met with Dr. Sommat Kaewmanee, the Mayor of Rambahng Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Singhanakhon District, Songkhla Province, and Mr. Cherdpong Boontisuk, a community development officer, to discuss strategies for promoting community-based tourism (CBT) and developing learning resources based on local resources.

The meeting focused on utilizing the resources and unique identity of Rambahng Subdistrict to maximize benefits for sustainable tourism, while also developing learning centers that provide knowledge to both community members and students. The discussion emphasized the integration of knowledge in engineering, technology, and creative industries to support local development.

All parties agreed that the development of community-based tourism requires collaboration from various sectors, including government agencies, private enterprises, and educational institutions, to ensure sustainable results and maximum benefits for the local community. RMUTSV will provide support by sharing knowledge and technology that can enhance the community’s potential, create new income opportunities, and stimulate the local economy.

This meeting marks the beginning of cooperation between academia, government agencies, and the community in developing cultural and natural tourism resources that will attract more visitors to Rambahng Subdistrict, ultimately improving the quality of life for local residents.
