Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, RUTS Enhances Clean Energy Skills with Solar Panel Installation and Maintenance Training

On September 11, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) organized a short non-degree training program (Non-Credit), Batch 2, on the topic “Installation and Maintenance of Solar Power Systems”. The opening ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Chakrapong Jitchamnong, Vice Dean for Administration and Planning, at the Integrated Learning and Laboratory Building, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology.

The training aimed to enhance professional skills in renewable energy and to prepare participants for future developments in the clean energy industry. It provided young learners with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in solar power technology at the vocational education level, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation’s policy on high-competency workforce development, lifelong learning, and skills aligned with the modern labor market, especially in the renewable energy sector and the transition to a low-carbon society.

The program combined theoretical and practical learning, covering key topics such as:

  • Fundamentals of solar power systems
  • Design and selection of equipment
  • Wiring and inverter installation
  • Inspection and maintenance
  • Reading technical drawings and fieldwork

Expert instructors from the Electrical Engineering Program at the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology led the sessions, including Assistant Professor Norngrit Senajit and Miss Nuchjirets Kaewsakul. Participants also engaged in hands-on workshops, installing and testing solar panels, which helped build practical skills and confidence in applying their knowledge in real-world settings.
