FIET, RUTS Enhances Clean Energy Skills through Training on Solar PV System Installation and Maintenance

On September 11, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), organized the 2nd short-course (Non-Degree) training program on “Installation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic (PV) Power Generation Systems”. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jakkrapong Jitjamnong, Deputy Dean for Administration and Planning, at the FIET Integrated Learning and Laboratory Building.

The training aimed to enhance professional skills in renewable energy and strengthen participants’ capabilities to meet the demands of the emerging clean energy industry. It provided an opportunity for vocational-level learners to gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with solar photovoltaic technology, in line with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) policy on lifelong learning and future workforce development for the renewable energy sector and the transition to a low-carbon society.

The curriculum combined theory and practice, covering key topics such as:

  • Fundamentals of photovoltaic systems
  • System design and equipment selection
  • Electrical wiring and inverter installation
  • System inspection and maintenance
  • Blueprint reading and fieldwork

The training was delivered by expert lecturers from the Electrical Engineering Program, including Asst. Prof. Narongrit Senajit and Ms. Nuchjireat Kaewsakun.

In addition, participants engaged in hands-on workshops, where they practiced actual installation and system testing of solar panels. These activities helped strengthen practical skills and boosted confidence in applying the knowledge to real-world applications.
