On August 6, 2025, Assistant Professor Chaiya Thanaphat Siri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET) at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), attended the opening ceremony of the Regional Occupational Safety and Health Event in Songkhla. The event was organized by the Institute for Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment Promotion (Public Organization – ISOP) to advance regional labor safety strategies, enhance labor standards, and foster a sustainable “Safe Work Culture” across southern Thailand.
The opening ceremony featured a report by Dr. Nantachai Panyasurarit, Director of ISOP, and a welcome address by Mr. Jirawat Maneechot, Deputy Governor of Songkhla. Representatives from government agencies, private sector companies, labor leaders, and academics from across the region attended the event at the Chuphan Conference Room, FIET, RUTS.
The event included academic lectures by safety experts, demonstrations of safety technologies, knowledge exchange forums with model workplaces, and exhibitions of innovative solutions to reduce occupational risks. These activities aimed to disseminate knowledge, inspire action, and foster collaboration among stakeholders to develop context-appropriate safety policies for local workplaces.
FIET RUTS provided the venue and actively supported the event, highlighting its commitment to collaboration between academia, government, and industry to promote sustainable workplace safety standards in the region.
