FIET, RUTS Enhances Clean Energy Skills with Solar Power Installation and Maintenance Training

On July 23, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET), RUTS organized a short-term non-degree training program (Batch 1) on “Installation and Maintenance of Solar Power Systems” at the combined classroom and laboratory building. Assistant Professor Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of FIET, presided over the opening ceremony. The program aimed to enhance professional skills in renewable energy and prepare participants for the evolving clean energy industry.

Participants included students from the Electronics Department, Songkhla Technical College, providing an opportunity for hands-on learning of solar cell technology at the vocational education level.

The training aligned with the highly skilled workforce development policy of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), emphasizing lifelong learning and market-relevant skills, particularly for the renewable energy sector and the transition to a low-carbon society.

The curriculum combined theory and practice, covering key topics such as solar power system fundamentals, equipment selection and design, wiring and inverter installation, system inspection and maintenance, and blueprint reading for field operations. The main instructors included Assistant Professor Narongrit Senajit, Ms. Nutchireth Kaewsakul, and Mr. Thapanik Teeraphan from the Department of Electrical Engineering, FIET.

Participants also engaged in a hands-on workshop to install and test solar panels, building practical skills and confidence for real-world application.

This training program exemplifies FIET’s integration of university missions with community academic services, highlighting its role in developing skilled personnel, supporting the local economy, and equipping students with the expertise to advance in professional careers or innovative business ventures sustainably.
