On July 20, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET), RUTS, in collaboration with the Creative Media Center for Children, Youth, and Families (Yok Kamlang Suk Club), the Office for the Promotion of Media and Cognitive Health (ThaiHealth), and partner networks, organized the Media Ecosystem Lab at FIET to empower young citizens in the role of “Citizen Health Communicators” and promote a healthy media ecosystem in society.
The full-day activities began with “Friendship Card”, designed to inspire connections among the network and participants of World Makers – Young Innovators, where each team presented their media ideas and projects through Lean Canvas Kid Dee Projects, addressing social change and health-related issues.
This was followed by a panel discussion, “Kid Dee Talk: Together We Can,” exchanging lessons on driving the Citizen Health Communicator movement and fostering social partnerships. Distinguished speakers included:
- Assistant Professor Piya Prasongchan, Vice President of RUTS, presenting “Citizen Re:Design – Transforming Society through Youth Power”
- Mrs. Matana Thanomphan Homlaor, Chairperson of ThaiHealth Steering Committee, presenting “Future Scape: Awakening Youth to Design the Future”
- Ms. Yanee Ratchbarirak, Director of the Office for the Promotion of Media and Cognitive Health, presenting “Ecosystem Shift: Citizen Communicators Changing the World”
- Assistant Professor Chaiya Thanaphat Siri, Dean of FIET, presenting “INNOACT: When Youth Dare to Think and Act to Create Innovations for the Common Good”
Later, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony marked the launch of “Southern Thailand Citizen Health Communicator Partnership”, signaling a commitment to collaboratively develop digital citizens for health. Signatories included:
- Assistant Professor Piya Prasongchan, Vice President, RUTS
- Ms. Yanee Ratchbarirak, Director of the Office for the Promotion of Media and Cognitive Health (ThaiHealth)
- Mr. Haris Maschai, Director of the Creative Media Center for Children, Youth, and Families (Yok Kamlang Suk Club)
Other partner organizations included FIET, RUTS; the Faculty of Political Science, PSU Pattani; Student Development Division, PSU Phuket; Yala Learning Park; Yala Municipality; CVM IT Technology Network (Krabi Technical College, Phuket Vocational College, Surat Thani Technical College, Hat Yai Technical College, Pattani Vocational College); and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), Southern Center.
The event concluded with a review of lessons learned, action plans, and next steps for the Citizen Health Communicator movement, reaffirming the commitment to empower young people as a creative, positive force for sustainable social well-being in Thailand.
