On July 9, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), participated in the Candle Casting and Candle Festival Ceremony in celebration of Asalha Bucha Day and the Buddhist Lent 2025. The event took place at the Multipurpose Building, RUTS, led by Asst. Prof. Chaiya Thanaphatsiri, Dean of FIET, together with the faculty’s administrators, lecturers, staff, and students.
The ceremony was graciously presided over by Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan, Vice President of RUTS. The religious activities included the candle casting ceremony, offering of lunch to the monks, Buddhist chanting, and presenting the Buddhist Lent candles along with traditional offerings to the monks—aimed at promoting moral and ethical values while preserving Buddhist traditions among faculty and students.
Following the ceremony, FIET organized a candle parade to Wat Sairngam, with students joining a lively long-drum procession. This vibrant activity symbolized the spirit of unity and collaboration, while also reflecting pride in preserving and promoting Thai cultural traditions for future generations.
