On April 23, 2025, Assistant Professor Chaiya Tanapatsuri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET) at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), participated in the “Retreat Strategy 9 MTR” meeting at the Rajamangkhon Chomkluen Hotel in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The event was led by Professor Piamsak Mena-Sewat, the Chairperson of the University’s Council, and attended by more than 100 members of the university’s council and senior executives.
The meeting focused on developing strategies and directions for the future development of the nine Rajamangala universities to align with global changes and national goals. A key topic discussed was the advancement of six future industry clusters:
- EV (Electric Vehicles)
- AI (Artificial Intelligence and Smart Technologies)
- Semiconductor & Advanced Electronics
- Medical Industry
- Energy Transition
- Smart City for Sustainability
The discussions were filled with energy, cooperation, and open-minded exchanges, with a focus on connecting academic networks. Assistant Professor Chaiya, in his role as the academic executive of FIET, also participated in discussions on the role of institutions in producing skilled graduates to support the direction of future industry clusters. Additionally, there were talks about enhancing the capabilities of Thailand’s workforce at the vocational and higher education levels to compete successfully on the global stage.
