RUTS, Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology Attends Funeral Rites of Phra Thepsuthamyan

On February 24, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), led by Asst. Prof. Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of the Faculty, along with executives and staff members, attended the funeral rites of Phra Thepsuthamyan (Chalaem Khemapanyo), former Advisor to the Ecclesiastical Region 18 and former Abbot of Chaimongkol Royal Monastery.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chotinarin Kerdsom, Governor of Songkhla Province, as the lay president, while Phra Thepwachirasutaporn, Ecclesiastical Provincial Governor of Songkhla, served as the monastic president. The event was attended by government officials, Buddhists, and a large number of disciples who gathered to pay their respects at Chaimongkol Royal Monastery in Mueang District, Songkhla Province.

Phra Thepsuthamyan was a revered monk who significantly contributed to Buddhism and education. Appointed as Abbot of Chaimongkol Temple in 1974, he played a pivotal role in teaching Buddhist scriptures, including Dhamma and Pali studies, at the Wat Liap Religious Studies Institute in Mueang District. He also spearheaded the development of Chaimongkol Temple into a center for disseminating Buddhist teachings to both laypeople and monks.

The participation in this merit-making ceremony reflects the deep respect and gratitude toward Phra Thepsuthamyan, who dedicated his life to Buddhism and Thai society.
