On February 10, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya held a hands-on training workshop for the second cohort of the Professional Barista Standardization Course at Room 57101, Building 57, Songkhla Campus. The event was inaugurated by Associate Professor Dr. Thanat Nontaputh, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Research, who presided over the opening ceremony.
The training was conducted as part of the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea through Ecosystem-Based Learning Systems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation,” which falls under Activity 8: “Developing Human Resources for Tourism.” The workshop featured expert instructors, including Associate Professor Rawiwan Phuangsorn, Head of the Hotel and Service Management Program at the Faculty of Arts, and Mr. Wittaya Boonmeechai, who provided training on professional barista skills.
The content of the training focused on:
- Using Equipment and Espresso Machines for Speed Bar Operations: Learning the proper use of coffee machines and other barista tools for fast-paced service.
- Milk Frothing and Foam Pouring: Techniques for frothing milk and pouring foam, including creating various latte art designs.
- Barista Professional Skills Development: Practical exercises to help participants refine their barista skills and understand the coffee service industry at a professional level.
This course is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills for entering the coffee and hospitality industries as professionals. The event received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the opportunity to develop practical and technical skills that will enhance their careers in the coffee industry and tourism sector.
