On February 8, 2025, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology organized a hands-on training workshop for the first cohort of the Barista Professional Standard Course at Betong Vocational College, Betong District, Yala Province. The event was inaugurated by Associate Professor Dr. Thanat Nonthaputh, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Research.
The event was also honored by the presence of Dr. Nirut Butrasenli, Director of the Office of Vocational Education Research and Development, and Mr. Thanarut Chulrat, Director of Betong Vocational College, who both visited and supported the activity.
Held from February 8-9, 2025, this training is part of the project “From Crisis to Adaptation: Developing High-Quality Tourism in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea through Ecosystem-Based Learning Systems, Modern Management, Technology, and Innovation,” and it forms part of Activity 8: “Developing Human Resources for Tourism.” The workshop featured expert trainers such as Professor Sulaymal Maming from the Hotel Department at Betong Vocational College, and Mr. Jirapat Boonthong, a barista from the “Kebsuk” café. They shared valuable insights and provided hands-on training in using barista equipment, operating a speedbar coffee machine, frothing milk, pouring foam, and creating latte art in various forms.
The goal of the training was to develop professional barista skills, preparing participants for the coffee and hospitality industries at a high professional level. The course received enthusiastic feedback from the participants, who appreciated the opportunity to enhance their skills.
