On January 18, 2025, faculty executives, staff, and students from the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, led by Assistant Professor Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of the Faculty, gathered to celebrate the anniversary of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS) at the university’s multipurpose hall.
The event commemorated the historic occasion when His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (Rama IX) signed the Royal Decree establishing RUTS on January 8, 2005. The decree was officially published in the Royal Gazette on January 18, 2005, marking the formation of nine new universities across Thailand from the former Rajamangala Institute of Technology, with the mission to provide higher education and promote both academic and professional excellence.
The ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Piya Prasongchan, Vice President of RMUTSV, who led the floral tribute before the royal portraits, performed a traditional offering of incense and candles, and expressed gratitude for the royal patronage of education. The celebration continued with a merit-making ceremony, where monks received alms from attendees, symbolizing blessings for the university’s continued success.
The participation of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology in this event underscores its commitment to upholding the university’s traditions and honoring its legacy in fostering technical and vocational education for sustainable development.
