On October 16, 2024, at RUTS Walking Street Market, the Student Club of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology organized a campaign titled “E-Cigarette Awareness: Quit Smoking, Reduce Risks – You Can Do It.” The event aimed to raise awareness of the dangers of e-cigarettes among students, staff, and the general public. Assistant Professor Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, presided over the event, with faculty executives and students participating in large numbers.
The event was lively, with the highlight being the “Danger Lungs Safe Distance” march around the market, communicating the harmful effects of e-cigarettes on lung health. There were activity booths run by the “Danger Lungs” and “Kwan Long” teams, combining education with entertainment. Additionally, a mini-concert featuring the song “Safe Distance” created a lively atmosphere, and attendees had the opportunity to watch advertising media and participate in games with prizes.
The campaign was supported by the “Kid Dee Idol” program (Health Communicators) under the Hackathon 4Health project, which aims to educate participants about the dangers of e-cigarettes, increase awareness, encourage behavior change, and promote further advocacy within society.
