On August 19, 2024, the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV), through its Petroleum Technology Program, organized a hands-on training program to develop the professional competencies of students in occupational safety, focusing on working at heights and in confined spaces. The event was inaugurated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanat Nontaput, Associate Dean for Academic and Research Affairs, at Southern Safety Co., Ltd. in Hat Yai, Songkhla.
The program’s goal was to equip students with essential skills and knowledge for working safely in high-risk environments, preparing them for future careers. Held from August 19 to 24, 2024, the training covered two key courses:
- Working at Heights Safety Course, which emphasized techniques for safely working at heights and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Confined Space Safety Course, which focused on working in oxygen-deficient and hazardous areas, including emergency preparedness and response.
Students practiced using safety equipment and simulated real-life scenarios, providing valuable experience to enhance their confidence and ensure safety in their future work environments.
