On September 17, 2025, the Student Council of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology (FIET), Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RUTS), hosted the exhibition “Kru Raja Volunteer for Community Development, 9th Edition” under the theme “Colors of Singora – The Story of Natural Dyeing.” The event took place at the Photography Studio, 2nd Floor, FIET Building.
The exhibition was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Chaiya Thanapatsiri, Dean of FIET, together with the Associate Dean for Student Development, the Head of the Faculty Office, and student leaders, who welcomed the visiting committee from the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB). The committee members explored the exhibits and attended student presentations.
One of the highlights was the creation of tie-dye shirts using mango plum leaves, developed in collaboration with the Women’s Community Enterprise of Hua Khao Subdistrict, Singhanakhon District, Songkhla Province, a local hub of natural dyeing wisdom. The products not only showcased the use of local materials but also featured designs symbolizing the identity of Songkhla Province. Notably, QR codes were embedded in the patterns, which, when scanned with a smartphone, revealed AR (Augmented Reality) stories that conveyed the heritage and culture of the local community—an innovative integration of modern technology with traditional knowledge.
The “Kru Raja Volunteer for Community Development” project serves as a crucial platform for students to engage in hands-on learning with local communities, fostering the preservation and development of indigenous wisdom. It also promotes the creation of innovations that add value to local products, contributing to sustainable community development.
